Another addition to our brand roster this SS20 season is Feng Chen Wang. The London-based Chinese designer has been turning heads for quite some time now, being at the forefront of a new generation of talent emerging from China. Having studied MA Fashion Menswear at the Royal College of Art in London, Wang has since focused on delivering a contemporary, emotional and structured aesthetic, which earned her a nomination for the LVMH Prize in 2016. She was also a finalist on the 2019/20 International Woolmark Prize, along with other hyped industry names.
Despite her training in men's fashion and starting from a masculine foundation in what regards silhouette an design, Wang creates unisex clothing that transcends the traditional gender roles. She approaches technical outerwear with a unique mix of functional and conceptual, drawing inspiration from her own life experiences such as her family and Chinese heritage.
Wang has designed six collections to date, showing two at London Fashion Week Men’s as part of Lulu Kennedy’s support scheme for emerging designers, MAN. In January 2019, she staged her first standalone runway way at London Fashion Week Men’s, which represented a new stage of her brand’s journey.Additionally, she has collaborated with brands such as Levi’s and Converse, bringing her unique and artistic sensibility to those projects, which have in turn raised her profile – both inside and outside of the fashion industry.
At Wrong Weather, we're quite excited to welcome another Asian label to our list, that provides a fresh approach to menswear that will certainly enrich our selection. Stay tuned for the first arrivals!
