Vicara is a collaborative group of independent designers and makers of product design. Vicara combines young blood with the reasonability of more experienced designers, always searching for new talent to develop new products while also proposing projects to established designers.
Surrounding culture and context.
From a salt & pepper shaker made from the Portuguese typical street pavement to a doormat that says hello and goodbye every time you enter or leave the house.
Objects intended to put a smile on your face, to add a little color and creativity to your daily life. This collection grabs its inspiration from our surrounding culture and context. Always respecting the fundamental principles behind the VICARA identity: Local and sustainable materials, exploration of new concepts, and meaningful processes. At the same time, creating accessible objects that everyone can purchase, making it possible to have a Portuguese author/designer piece in your home.
The beauty lies in the process.
This collection highlights one of the main characteristics of the designer community in Caldas da Rainha. Derived from the MA in Product Design at ESAD.Cr, these pieces are all made using specially designed techniques that aim for imperfections, irregularities, and produced in small batches.
Priming the use of glass and ceramic, the regional materials of choice, these objects speak the language of makers. Often the mold or the process behind the making is, for their designers but also for Vicara, the most important aspect.
