RAF SIMONS SS21

To present his SS21 collection in the midst of a global pandemic Raf Simons turned to video by creating a short film called 'Teenage dreams'. With this film, he also presented his first womenswear collection under the eponymous label.

The focus has not changed, Raf Simons's ss21 collection is about youth subcultures and demystifying traditional menswear with strong references to music, art, and performance. The mood and culture behind the collection are as strong as the clothing pieces themselves: fearless text statements about independence and attitude paired with sartorial pieces and a bold pop-of-color mixed with integral white or black looks.

The collection is genderless and some pieces are shown in multiple models, to emphasize the mutability between garments and people and also to fully embrace womenswear as a core part of the brand, setting a new chapter for Raf Simons.

The video was directed by Raf Simons himself and has a mysterious and threatening feel, reminding us of the '70s and '80s in a very peculiar way. The soundtrack that was used is courtesy of Senjan Jansen.

The RAF SIMONS ss21 collection first drop is now available at Wrong Weather.
